Personalized chess lessons, built from your games
Personalized chess lessons start from your games, not from a generic course. Chess X-Ray reads your chess.com or Lichess games with Stockfish, finds the positions where you keep playing the same losing move, and turns each one into a lesson on your exact position. Nobody else gets the same lessons.
What makes a chess lesson personalized
A generic course teaches you what most players get wrong. A personalized lesson teaches you what you get wrong: your openings, your positions, your move. Chessable has you memorize a grandmaster’s repertoire; it does not know you have been losing to the same trap for six months.
A human coach starts the same way: go through your games and find what you keep repeating. That first step is the one Chess X-Ray does, on every game you played recently, in minutes.
How it works
- Type your chess.com or Lichess username. No password, nothing to install: we read your public games.
- Stockfish goes through your recent games, every time control, and measures what each of your moves cost.
- We group the positions you keep reaching and keep the ones where you play the same losing move again and again.
- You get your 10 costliest mistakes as lessons: your exact position, your usual move in red, your turn to find better, then the right line and the point to remember.
Two formats, from the same games
- Lessons built from your blunders: the exact position before your mistake. You search, you find it, you see the refutation.
- Masterclasses on the openings you actually play: the line you really play, measured, and the plan you are missing where your score drops.
Who it is for
Players improving without a coach, on chess.com or Lichess, at any rating. The more games you have played, the clearer your habits are, and the more precise your lessons get.
Frequently asked questions
Are personalized chess lessons worth it?
They are worth more than generic ones when they target your own repeated mistakes: every one you fix pays back each time the position comes back in your games.
Is this a replacement for a chess coach?
It does the first job of a coach, finding what you keep repeating in your games. A coach adds the conversation and the long-term plan.
Do you need my chess.com or Lichess password?
No. We read your games through the public chess.com or Lichess API, using your username. We never ask for your password and never sign in to your account.
Can I see a lesson before I start?
Yes. The streamers’ courses are built exactly like yours, from their public games, and open without an account.
How long does it take?
Usually about 10 minutes, 24 hours at the latest.
