Chess X-Ray in ChatGPT and Claude
Chess X-Ray has an MCP connector. Add it to ChatGPT or Claude, ask a question about your own chess.com or Lichess games, and a few minutes later a video made from those games plays right in the chat.
What you can ask
Anything about your own games, in your own words. A few examples:
- “Analyze my games against the Caro-Kann and suggest more aggressive lines.”
- “Analyze my last blitz session.”
- “Why do I keep losing with Black in the Sicilian?”
What you get back
- A video, never a wall of text: your own positions, the move you played and the better one, with a voice explaining why.
- By default it reads your last 100 games. Ask for more or fewer in your request (“my last 30 games”).
- The video appears in the chat after a few minutes, and opens full screen on chessxray.com.
The two tools
- ask_video: starts a video from your username, your site (chess.com or Lichess) and your question.
- get_video: fetches that video when it is ready and shows it in the chat.
You never call them yourself: ChatGPT or Claude does it when you ask about your games.
How to add it
- In Claude: Settings, Connectors, add a custom connector, then paste the Chess X-Ray address.
- In ChatGPT: Settings, Apps and connectors, add a connector, then paste the same address.
- Then ask your question with your username in it.
The connector is not open yet. Its address will be published on this page when it opens.
Account and price
- You sign in with your Chess X-Ray account, in the sign-in window ChatGPT or Claude opens when you add the connector. Your chess.com or Lichess password is never asked.
- Claim your free credits.
The price of a video will be announced on this page before the connector opens.
