A Chess Insights alternative that shows the positions
Chess insights tools turn all your games into charts: results by opening, accuracy, time, missed tactics. They tell you that something is wrong, not where. Chess X-Ray reads your recent games and shows the exact positions where you keep losing points, each as a lesson.

How it works
- Type your usernamechess.com or Lichess. No password, nothing to install: we read your public games.
- Stockfish reads your gamesYour recent games, every time control, and what each of your moves cost.
- Your repeats come outThe positions you keep reaching, where you play the same losing move again and again.
- You replay them as lessonsYour exact position, your usual move in red, your turn to find better, then the right line and the point to remember.

What the insights tools do well
They answer questions no single game can: do you score better with White or Black, which opening loses you the most, do you play worse after move 30, do you miss forks more than pins. Lichess Insights lets you ask almost anything of your games, for free. chessinsights.xyz is a free, open source tool that also exports all your chess.com games to a file.
From a number to a position
A chart that says you lose 58% of your games in the Caro-Kann does not say why. The answer is usually one position you reach again and again, and one move you keep playing there. Chess X-Ray finds that position, shows your move in red, and lets you replay it until you find better, with the right line and the idea to remember.
Which one should you choose?
- Choose an insights tool if you like to explore your statistics yourself and find your own patterns.
- Choose Chess X-Ray if you want to know which mistakes you keep repeating across all your games, and to replay each one on your exact position until the right move comes without thinking. See how it works.
